Girl, 7, hospitalised after injecting herself with mum's weight loss drugs

Tragic reports are speaking about a seven-year-old girl from Indiana getting very sick after injecting herself with her mother's weight loss medication.

The medication was identified as the GLP-1, which is a prescription drug that is commonly used for weight loss and treatment of diabetes. Little Jessa thought that the injector pen was stomach medication. She ended up inserting 60% of that inside her.

After that injection, she got very sick and started to vomit, giving rise to dehydration, and turning lifeless as she was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Doctors were very worried about the complications, including possible kidney concerns, as she just could not keep that water down, and she had not urinated for a short period of time. Therefore, the doctors gave her IV fluids and supportive care.

Jessa was hospitalized and kept on close monitoring, ultimately resulting in her spending several days under medical care.

Her serious symptoms included the likes of dehydration and weakness, which slowly got better with time. She was then given the green signal to go home as the drug wore off her system.
