77-year-old Bill Stevenson, who is the former husband of Jill Biden, has been charged with first-degree murder over the death of his wife, who is 64-year-old Linda Stevenson.
Police in New Castle County shared more about how officers replied late on December 28, 2025, to a reported domestic dispute at the pair's home in Oak Hill, where Linda was found unresponsive inside the living room.
Emergency responders tried different life-saving measures, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. After a week-long investigation, a grand jury returned an indictment accusing Stevenson of intentionally causing her death.
He was taken into custody without incident. Stevenson failed to post the $500k cash bail that was set by authorities and remains held at the Howard Young Correctional Institution.
Cops are yet to roll out a cause or clear motive for this death, and details are limited while the case is moving forward.
